About Us

More than just books…

We also have movies, ND State Park Passes, and access to databases! We have Children’s, Young Adult, and Adult programs. If we don’t have what you are looking for, we can get it via Interlibrary Loan. We also offer LIBBY, an online book checkout, where you can read or listen from your favorite device. You will log in through your Library Card barcode and password. You can use this service even when you travel! Check us out!

Tasty Tuesday

On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, yummy homemade treats are available during library hours. This is our way of giving back to our patrons, sponsors, and the community. We wouldn’t be here with you! Everyone is welcome!

Technology

Public computers are available for patron use. WiFi is also available in the library as well as the ability to make copies and print documents.

Children’s Programs

There is something for every age group at the library! We celebrate this early love of reading with a number of events geared specifically for children. Children’s Books & Crafts occurs one Saturday a month throughout the school year. Each month the stories, crafts, and snacks center around a theme. We strive to maintain this love of reading even after the school year has ended with our summer reading program. Children participate in weekly activities that celebrate reading, set goals for themselves, and earn certificates and prizes for their accomplishments! Both programs are free of charge thanks to the generous support of the community and donations from sponsors.

Winterfest

Winterfest, a community celebration of entering the holiday season, is traditionally held on the Sunday immediately following Thanksgiving. It is a joyous, family-oriented event. The Friends of McVille Community Library prepare a delicious buffet-style meal that varies from year to year and is always a highlight of the Winterfest Event. Come and celebrate Winterfest with family and friends.

Knit & Purl

On most Saturday mornings at the library, you will find a group of women gathered with their knitting, crocheting, or other handiwork projects. This is an informal gathering, not a class; yet teaching and learning are always taking place as crafters share patterns and techniques with one another. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, we’d love to have you join us. The knitting is always accompanied by interesting conversation and laughter, and the coffee & tea are always on.
